Talia Perlshtein, a dance researcher, gives lectures throughout the world about artistic dance in Israel and about dance education.

She was the director of the Dance Library of Israel, and developed it into a unique and dynamic dance center – a focal point for mutual enrichment among those active in the field – both practically and in research.

In her video-lecture at the Talia Perlshtein introduces leading Israeli choreographers: Rami Be’er (The Kibutz Dance Group), Ohad Naharin (The Bat Sheva Dance Group), Noa Vertheim (The Vertigo Dance Group, Inbal Pinto), Yasmin Godder.

The interpretation will bring forth a number of key issues, which arise from the contemporary dance performances:
Holocaust remembrance (“Aide Memoire”) the products of war in Israel (“Screen Saver”, "Strawberry Cream and Gunpowder"), the relationship between man and his destiny /

higher powers / faith (“Anaphase – Ahad Mi Yodea” / ”Oyster” / ”Esther”, etc.), Israeli society (“The Power of Balance”), the choreographer and he’s personal memories (“Hall”, etc.).

The analysis and interpretation will emphasize the artistic means that create, stimulate and encourage the feelings, understanding, knowledge, memory and the criticism of the viewer.

Thalia Perlshtein is a senior lecturer at the “Orot Israel” college, and a member of central public committees in Israel on subjects of dance curricula. She was one of the founders of the first six-year dance study matriculation course at the “Academy High School” in Jerusalem, and headed the dance department for 20 years.
