The archive provides its audio-visual material and has viewing and working facilities available for research into dance, seminars and congresses, pedagogic research projects and dance festivals.

The Reference Video Library is open to the public. Dancers, choreographers, dance and movement pedagogues, expert journalists, scientists and students of dance use this opportunity to ascertain a range of information from our extensive data base.

The institute’s data base has been developed in co-operation with the University Bremen. It is especially adapted to the needs of research into the field of dance. It contains information about the archived tapes, about choreographers and their work, about individual performances, theatres and other institutions of dance. Other archives’ data concerning dance is continuously integrated into our data base.

Due to copyright reasons individual users can only view the material on site.
For some of the recorded material it is also necessary to obtain a permission by the author or choreographer of the work.
