Choreographic Avant-Garde

The video series Choreographic Avant-Garde offers portraits of contemporary choreographers working in Germany.

These portraits are created in close co-operation with the choreographers themselves, who choose the extracts of their pieces, which best represent their artistic development. Segments of interviews provide a personal commentary of their work.

Each of the portraits of about 30 – 40 minutes length has a specific background design based on a material of the choreographer’s choice, such as rust, ice, clouds or beads. The first issues of the Choreographic Avant-Garde series were created within the context of Dance on Demand.
