In 1978 he was followed by Reinhild Hoffmann in Artistic Direction (in the first years together with Gerhard Bohner
), who released some of her best work here with “Five Days, Five Nights”, “Wedding”, “Weed Garden”, “Kings and Queens”, “Callas” and “Foehn”. Hoffmann’s
plays are characterised by great pictorial power and stronger dance orientation.
After Hoffmann’s move to the Schauspielhaus Bochum in 1989, Kresnik
returned to Bremen for another five years. In 1994 Susanne Linke
(until 1997) and Urs Dietrich
jointly directed the ensemble and established their style based on reduction and precise composition.
Since the beginning of the 2012/2013 season, Michael Börgerding has been at the helm of the house as artistic director.
